MANILA, Philippines – Fire gutted some 200 houses in Navotas City at dawn Friday.
The Navotas City fire station said that the blaze swept through Market 3area of the fish port complex in Barangay NBBN, and reached fifth alarm at 4:49 a.m.
Officials later declared “fire out” in the area at 6:11 a.m.
Damage to property was initially pegged at P1 million, Navotas fire station chief Supt. Bartolome Biliran told INQUIRER.net in a text message.
No casualties or serious injuries were reported.
Further investigation on the cause of the blaze is ongoing. /gsg
