Woman yields ‘shabu’ in underwear while visiting partner at QC jail
MANILA, Philippines — A woman who was previously jailed for six years is facing another drug case after she was caught allegedly sneaking “shabu” (crystal meth) concealed in her underwear while visiting her live-in partner detained at the Quezon City Jail.
Col. Ronnie Montejo, acting director of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD), identified the suspect as Leslie Hernandez, who was arrested at about 10:50 a.m. on Sunday. She was previously convicted for drugs but released after completing her prison sentence.
In a QCPD report on Monday, Montejo said the duty jail officer noticed “something unusual” in the underwear of the suspect, who was then subjected to a strip search. Jail officers allegedly found a medium-sized sachet of suspected “shabu” concealed in a panty liner.
The suspect was then arrested and turned over to the QCPD Station 10 in Kamuning.
