Panelo: Propose solutions to traffic woes instead of just criticizing admin

MANILA, Philippines — Critics should propose solutions to help the government with the traffic problem instead of just criticizing the administration, Palace Spokesman Salvador Panelo said Monday.

Panelo said critics like Vice President Leni Robredo should suggest solutions, saying criticism will not help solve the problem at all.

Tama na yung kritisismo,” Panelo said in a press briefing.

(Those who like to challenge should just give proposals on how to help the government, like VP Leni. Enough with the criticism.)

‘Yun ang solusyon doon,” he added.

(That won’t help. Just give a proposal so you could help the government. That’s the solution.)

Robredo earlier said the first step to solving the crisis in Metro Manila is by acknowledging its existence.

Iyong pinakaunang paraan para may gawin, iyong pagtanggap na talagang malaki iyong problema,” Robredo said during her radio program Sunday.

(What’s saddening is when a public official says there is no crisis. Because when you say there is no crisis, you don’t do anything because you think there is no problem. The first step to taking action is to accept there is a big problem.)

Panelo insisted there is no mass transport crisis since there’s no “paralysis,” but acknowledged commuters are facing a “traffic crisis.” /je
