A gunman in Batuan vice mayor’s murder is Cam’s ex-driver, says kin
MANILA, Philippines — The wife of slain Batuan, Masbate Vice Mayor Charlie Yuson III on Thursday claimed that one of the apprehended gunmen in the crime was PCSO board member Sandra Cam’s former driver.
In a press briefing, Lalaine Yuson also said of receiving a tip that at least one of the suspects in her husband’s murder was part of the Masbate Police.
Cam’s son Marco lost to the victim’s som Charmax Jan Yuson in the 2019 mayoral election in Batuan town.
“Tulungan n’yo po kami. Inihahain ko sa na sa inyo ang pamilya ko at pamilya ng witnesses namin. Baka kami ay mamatay,” Lalaine pleaded to President Rodrigo Duterte.
Cam had earlier denied any involvement in the crime, saying that their family had already moved on from the results of the May 2019 elections.
The Batuan, Masbate vice mayor was shot dead on Wednesday morning while he was having breakfast at a canteen in Sampaloc, Manila.
