Survey: 4 of 5 Pinoys satisfied with Duterte
MANILA, Philippines — Four out of five Filipino respondents said they were satisfied with President Duterte’s performance in the third quarter of the year, the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey indicated.
The poll, conducted from Sept. 27 to 30, found that 78 percent of 1,800 adult respondents nationwide were satisfied, 13 percent were dissatisfied and 9 percent were undecided.
The figures were slightly lower than the 80 percent satisfaction and 12 percent dissatisfaction ratings that the President got in June, although the changes were well within the survey’s margin of error of plus or minus 2.3 percentage points.
The President’s net satisfaction rating (satisfied minus dissatisfied), however, fell three points to +65 after hitting a personal record-high of +68 in June.
Between June and September, the President’s net satisfaction rating declined the most in Luzon outside Metro Manila, from +65 to +54, while his net score in Mindanao worsened from +81 to +76, the second straight quarter that his rating fell in his bailiwick Mindanao. In June, his net rating in Mindanao slid from +88 in March to +81.
The survey also showed the President’s net rating as slightly down in urban areas; among both men and women; among those age 25 to 44 years; those age 55 and above, and among high school and elementary graduates. —Inquirer Research
