NCRPO to work with Chinese cops vs sex dens
MANILA, Philippines — The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) will coordinate with Chinese police officials to address the sudden increase of Chinese-operated prostitution dens in the Philippines, Maj. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar, NCRPO chief, said on Wednesday.
“It is better for police to improve monitoring of these [prostitution dens] and coordinate with our Chinese counterparts,” Eleazar, speaking partly in Filipino, in a press conference at the Makati City Police Station.
In recent operations, law enforcers in Metro Manila have rescued hundreds of Chinese sex workers and arrested syndicate members prostitution dens.
In the latest operation, Makati police arrested 20 Chinese men and rescued 35 Chinese sex workers in a hotel being used as a front for a prostitution den.

Eleazar said the influx of foreigners, particularly Chinese, in the Philippines might help economically, but he said this had caused the increase of Chinese sex workers.
“There are now restaurants catering to them, even grocery stores. For entertainment, male Chinese workers have brought in in sex workers. These sex workers did not come from the Philippines. These workers came purposely for them,” Eleazar said.
Eleazar said these prostitution dens entice Chinese workers, most of them employed in Philippine offshore gaming operations (Pogo).
“We have scheduled a meeting with a Chinese police attaché. We will be meeting with him to talk about this concern,” he said.
The NCRPO will then conduct operations on those behind these prostitution dens once it has received information from Chinese police that their government had already canceled the passports of these suspects.
