P68M worth of ‘shabu’ confiscated in Quezon City

MANILA, Philippines — Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) seized P68 million worth of suspected crystal meth, locally known as shabu, from a Chinese national and two Filipino companions in a buy-bust operation in Quezon City on Tuesday.

Director III Joel Plaza, director of the National Capital Region office of PDEA, identified the Chinese suspect as Liu Fu Gui and the two other suspects as Keith Anthony Romo and Nonito Garlindo.

The PDEA agents arrested the suspects in an operation conducted at about 4:30 p.m. with members of the Quezon City Police District Station 2.

Confiscated in the buy-bust were 10 packs of suspected shabu, each weighing a kilogram; two vehicles, and the marked cash used in the operation.

The suspects will face a case for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
