Bayan hits Panelo: You know nothing about horrible daily commute
MANILA, Philippines – The Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (Bayan) has chided presidential spokesperson Salvador Panelo for disputing their assertion of an allegedly prevailing “mass transport crisis” in the National Capital Region.
Bayan Secretary-General Renato Reyes said Tuesday that Panelo’s declaration that there is yet a mass transport crisis in Metro Manila clearly displays the Palace official’s ignorance of the “daily sufferings” of commuters.

“It only shows that Secretary Panelo obviously has no knowledge of the lives of commuter and mass transport crisis. He knows nothing about the daily sufferings of people bearing miserable public transport conditions,” Reyes said in a text message.
Earlier, Panelo said there is yet a mass transport crisis in NCR because metro dwellers are still able to arrive at their destinations.
“Mukha namang wala pa (It looks like there is none yet),” Panelo said during a Palace briefing. “Kasi nga nakakarating pa naman ‘yung mga dapat makarating sa kanilang paparoonan (Because commuters still arrive at places they need to reach).”

“Malacañang has no solution, so what it just does is to deny the existence of the problem,” he added.
On Monday, Reyes said glitches at the Light Rail Transit (LRT) Line 1 and Metro Rail Transit (MRT) Line 3, as well as the partial closure of LRT Line 2’s operations because of razed rectifiers between Santolan and Katipunan stations are indicators of a mass transport crisis. /kga
