MANILA, Philippines — The Office of the Vice President considers the recent dip in Vice President Leni Robredo’s approval and trust ratings as a challenge to “redouble efforts” to serve the people, spokesperson Barry Gutierrez said Monday.
The third quarter Pulse Asia survey showed a decline in Robredo’s approval rating at 50 percent and trust rating at 46 percent. These scores are respectively five and six percent lower than the ratings she obtained in June for the second quarter poll.

“We take the latest survey results as a challenge to redouble our efforts both in continuing to serve the public and keeping the Filipino people better informed of the work VP Leni is doing,” Gutierrez said in a statement.
OVP nonetheless deemed Robredo’s ratings in the September survey as a showing of “significant support” from the public.
“We are likewise grateful that the VP continues to enjoy significant support from our fellow Filipinos,” Gutierrez said.
“This support will further strengthen her commitment to stay true to her Constitutional mandate, uphold our nation’s interests, and work to uplift the lives of our people, especially the poor and marginalized,” he added.
The Pulse Asia survey was conducted in September with 1,200 Filipino adult respondents. Pulse Asia said it has 95% confidence in the results with an error margin for nationwide results of ±2.8 percent, and ±5.7 percent for Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. /kga
