Oct. 6 to 8: Lubi-Lubi Festival


The municipality of Glan in Sarangani province celebrates its 105th founding anniversary, with the theme “Moving toward Progress through Tourism and Cultural Presentation.”

Glan also showcases its main product, coconut. Activities include a “cocolympics,” agri and trade bazaar, concert and street dancing competition.


Oct. 6 to 12: Parau Festival

The town of Pilar in Sorsogon province pays homage to the ingenuity and courage of its ancestors as shipbuilders during the Spanish colonization.

There will be a fun run, bike race, traditional games and “bancathon.”

Oct. 8 to 28: Masskara Festival

The famed festival in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental province, is on its 40th run this year.

The event’s highlights include Electric Masskara, street and arena dance competitions, and national fireworks competition.

Masskara was created to lift the spirits of residents following the tragic events in Bacolod in the 1980s.
