DAGUPAN CITY –– A flood-free eco-friendly community mall was formally opened here on Friday morning by property giant SM Prime Holdings Inc.

SM Dagupan Center is SM Prime’s 74th mall and its 3rd one in Pangasinan province.

Pangasinan Vice Gov. Mark Lambino, Dagupan Vice Mayor Bryan Kua, Pangasinan 4th district Rep, Christopher de Venecia, and other local officials joined SM Prime’s executive committee chair Hans Sy during the ceremonial opening of the mall’s door at 10 a.m.

Sy said the mall collects rainwater for its cooling tower and other uses and also recycles water.

“This is a big mall but it is more of a community mall and it has no department store. It has stores and restaurants,” Sy said.

Steven Tan, chief operating officer of SM Supermarkets, said SM Dagupan Center has 115 stores and restaurants.

The mall will serve customers in the city and from nearby towns and cities of Lingayen, Binmaley, Calasiao, Mangaldan, Santa Barbara, Malasiqui and San Carlos City. Yolanda Sotelo
