Barack and Michelle Obama exchanged heartfelt wedding-anniversary messages yesterday, Oct. 3.

The former US President quoted the Beatles to describe 27 years of marriage to Michelle on social media.

He posted a picture of his wife embracing him as they faced a sunset. “Like the Beatles said: It’s getting better all the time. Thanks, babe, for 27 amazing years!”

Meanwhile, Michelle spoke of a marriage filled with “magic” and “adventure.”

“27 years ago, this guy promised me a life full of adventure. I’d say he’s delivered. Here’s to our next chapter of becoming empty nesters and discovering what’s next—while still feeling the magic that brought us together all those years ago. Happy anniversary, Barack.”

The two lawyers, both Harvard graduates, met at a law firm in 1989 where Michelle was assigned as Barack’s mentor. They wed on Oct. 3, 1992, and have two daughters, Malia, 21; and Sasha, 18, who are both in university.

Since the Obamas left the Oval Office, they have continued to be on the forefront for social justice. The couple launched in April their production company, Higher Ground Productions, which has partnered with Netflix, to feature films, documentaries, TV series, and children’s shows that will tackle “issues of race and class, democracy and civil rights, and much more.”  /ra
