Bomb threat disrupts Mapua University classes anew

MANILA, Philippines – Mapua University canceled classes anew in its Intramuros, Manila campus on Thursday after receiving a bomb threat.

“Classes are suspended due to a reported bomb threat. Students and employees are required to vacate the Intramuros campus now,” the university said in its official Twitter page.

The university, however, ordered that classes must be conducted online.

“However, today will be considered as a DIGITAL DAY. All classes will be conducted online,” read the tweet.

The university said police found no explosives, and that classes will resume on Friday, October 4, 2019.

“At 10:30 a.m., the Intramuros campus was declared negative from any explosive and hazardous materials by the Philippine National Police Bomb Squad,” the university said in another tweet.

On September 19, 2019, the university likewise suspended classes in its Makati and Intramuros campuses after a bomb scare.
