MANILA, Philippines — A total of 241 people were arrested in Caloocan City on Tuesday afternoon as the Northern Police District (NPD) conducted what it called a successful “One-Time Big-Time” operation.
Among those arrested by a joint team composed of operatives from the NPD, Regional Mobile Force Battalion and some government agencies were 92 people accused of violating either Republic Act No. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) or RA 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).
Also taken into custody were 19 persons who had pending warrants of arrest, 48 who were accused of other crimes, 60 alleged violators of city ordinances and 22 illegal gambling suspects.
Seized during the simultaneous police operations against drugs, wanted persons, illegal firearms and other crimes were 212.15 grams of “shabu” (crystal meth), 7.21 grams of marijuana, 192 loose firearms, 10 motorcycles and 27 fake license plates.

Agents of the Optical Media Board who also participated in the operation helped confiscate some P1.145 million worth of pirated DVDs.
The suspects and seized items were brought to the NPD headquarters in Caloocan City.
Brig. Gen. Rolando Anduyan, the NPD chief, urged the public to report any illegal activity in their areas.
“This One-Time Big-Time operation will serve as a warning to those who will violate city [ordinances] and defy the law because the Philippine National Police will not hesitate to arrest them,” he said.
