SORSOGON CITY – The Sorsogon police seized illegal drugs worth more than P6.8 million in their month-long anti-drug operations in December.

Colonel Alex Daniel, Sorsogon police director, reported on Saturday, Jan. 4, that they recovered 1000.5384 grams of shabu (crystal meth) and 0.2518 grams of marijuana valued at P6,803,691.

Daniel said five operations were conducted in December, leading to the arrest of three drug suspects.

The police also confiscated an abandoned drug package.

On December 23, a box containing at least a kilogram of shabu worth more than P6 million was found at the province’s Matnog Port. It was left there by an unidentified person.

The Sorsogon police also arrested six most wanted persons and 27 other persons last December.

Sixteen individuals were also apprehended for their involvement in illegal gambling, while 34 were arrested for illegal fishing and eight for illegal logging.

In November, the Sorsogon police seized illegal drugs worth more than 400,000 during their four operations.
