TACLOBAN CITY –– A 34-year-old American national was arrested for allegedly mauling a 17-year-old girl who refused to have sex with him.
Reports reaching the Eastern Visayas police based in Palo, Leyte said that about 1:15 a.m. of Wednesday (October 2), Nadeer Haleem, a native of Raleigh, North Carolina, USA, invited the victim to his house at Purok 3, Barangay Canlapwas of Catbalogan City, Samar for a drinking spree.
After two hours, the girl reportedly asked Haleem that she would go home. The American national, however, prevented the victim from leaving and instead requested to have sex with her.
But the girl refused.
Haleem then allegedly mauled the victim who suffered injuries in different parts of her body.
The American national is now jailed at the Catbalogan City police detention facility pending the filing of charges against him.
