Glitch disrupts MRT-3 operations
MANILA, Philippines – A power glitch temporarily stalled operations of the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) on Wednesday morning.
The MRT-3 management said that a problem in the train line’s power supply from Ayala Station to Taft Avenue Station occurred at 10:17 a.m.
Due to the power supply problem, 508 passengers were unloaded and had to walk on the tracks between the Ayala and Magallanes stations at 10:34 a.m.
A minute later, power was restored and operations normalized, the MRT-3 management said.
“We continue to investigate the cause of the power supply issue, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience,” the management said in a statement. /gsg
