2 nabbed, over P5 M shabu seized in Mandaluyong buy-bust
MANILA, Philippines – Police arrested two drug suspects and seized over P5 million worth of shabu (crystal meth) in a buy-bust operation in Mandaluyong City Tuesday morning.
Mandaluyong police chief Col. Remigio Sedanto identified the arrested suspects as Suraida Samad, 43, and Joel Sumlay, 46, both are residents of New Lower Bicutan in Taguig City.
Samad and Sumlay were arrested in at Barangay Addition Hills at around 11 a.m. after selling P5,000 worth of shabu to an undercover police officer.
Recovered from the duo were 11 sachets of shabu worth an estimated P5.4 million, and marked peso bills.
Sumlay and Samad are detained at the Mandaluyong City police station and will be charged with violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. /gsg
