LUCENA CITY –– An unidentified gunman aboard a luxury vehicle shot and wounded a motorist along the eco-tourism road in Sariaya town in Quezon province on Friday, police said.

Raymond Fuente, 30, was at the driver’s seat of a parked Isuzu Elf close van when he was suddenly shot by an occupant of a light brown Toyota Fortuner without plate number in Barangay Bignay 1 around 4:30 p.m., a report from the Quezon police said.

The gunman escaped after the shooting.

Investigators recovered two spent shells from a caliber .45 pistol at the crime scene.

Citing testimony from the victim, the report said the victim’s vehicle and the said Toyota Fortuner had nearly collided earlier at the crossing of the eco-tourism road.

The incident probably angered the driver of the sport utility vehicle and motivated him to shoot the victim, police said./lzb
