MANILA, Philippines — A criminology student from Laguna was rushed to a Manila hospital where he is undergoing treatment for injuries that could be due to hazing, police said Friday.

Col. Eleazar Matta, Laguna police chief, identified the victim as Jonathan Cabueños, 18, of Barangay Concepcion, San Pablo City, Laguna. Police said he is a first-year criminology student.

According to the police’s initial investigation,  Concordia suddenly collapsed at LPSU located in Barangay Del Remedio, San Pablo City on Thursday night.

Concordia was then transferred to Chinese General Hospital in Manila after physicians found he has hematoma on his legs as well as burns from candle wax on his back.

Prior to this, police said Concordia was also brought to a hospital last September 24 because the victim suffered from a cerebrovascular accident. /kga
