Indian lender collecting payments shot, wounded in Albay town

LEGAZPI CITY—An Indian lender was wounded after he was shot by an unidentified man on Thursday, Sept. 26, in Tabaco City, Albay province as he was trying to collect loan payments from a store owner in the town.

Arshdeep Singh, 27, who resides in the town of Daraga, was in the village of San Antonio in Tabaco for his routine collection trip when the gunman came close to him and shot him in the chest around 10:30 a.m.

The assailant used Singh’s motorcycle to flee toward the town of Malinao, which is next to Tabaco.

Witnesses said the suspect wore a black jacket, yellow green shirt, faded pants, black cap and sunglasses.
