Road closures from Sept. 27-30 listed as MMDA tells motorists to find alternate routes

MANILA, Philippines—Expect a more severe gridlock as portions of Metro Manila roads, including Edsa, will be closed at the weekend for repair and reblocking, according to the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Friday, Sept. 27. In an advisory, the MMDA said the following road portions will be closed starting 11 p.m. on Sept. 27, Friday, to 5 a.m. on Sept. 30, Monday: Southbound: -Edsa Magallanes-Baclaran Bus Stop to Magallanes-Alabang Bus Stop (outer lane) -Edsa after Camp Crame Gate to Annapolis St. (outer lane) -Edsa Bansalangin to North Ave. U-turn (5th lane from sidewalk) Eastbound: -Quirino Highway Salvia St. to before Belfast Road (outer lane) -Elliptical Rd after Maharlika St. (8th lane from outer sidewalk) Westbound: -Novaliches General Luis St. Samote St. to SB Road Northbound: -A. Bonifacio Ave. J. Pineda to Marvex Drive (1st lane from sidewalk) -Edsa from Gate 4 to Gate 3 (2nd lane from center island) -Katipunan Ave./C-5 after C.P Garcia St. (truck lane) -Edsa Quezon City after Aurora Blvd. to New York St. (3rd lane from sidewalk) The MMDA said all the affected roads will be fully passable by morning of Sept. 30 but advised motorists to use alternate routes in the meantime./TSB
