Bukidnon poll exec dies from fallen rock

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY –– The provincial election supervisor of Bukidnon died in a road accident in Valencia City Friday morning (Sept. 27), police said.

Lawyer Stalin Baguio was driving towards Valencia City around 10 a.m. when a rock fell into the vehicle’s windshield and hit his face.

Baguio fell unconscious and lost control of the vehicle that veered towards a roadside drainage.

Baguio and his companion, Lee Marvin Rapirap, were rushed to the nearest hospital. Rapirap survived the accident while Baguio died while inside the emergency room, police said.

According to an initial report from Valencia police, the rock, about a foot in diameter, may have fallen from a truck bound for Malaybalay City./lzb
