CLARK FREEPORT — Fiber internet and cable television company Converge ICT Solutions Inc. has laid out 1,800-kilometers of submarine cable from its data center in Luzon, enabling it to establish one in Cebu late this year.

Converge ICT president and chief executive officer Dennis Anthony Uy bared this in a forum of the Capampangan in Media Inc. here on Friday.

American private equity firm Warburg Pincus LLC recently signed an investment deal with Converge ICT to help it finance a US$1.8-billion nationwide internet backbone using fiber, than copper, for the high-speed Internet connection of households.
