MANILA, Philippines – Filipinos can expect generally fair weather on Friday even as the state weather bureau is monitoring two low pressure areas (LPA) near the Philippine waters.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) on Friday, the LPA inside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) is seen to evaporate over time, but the other LPA which sits outside PAR, may develop into a weather disturbance.
“The LPA which is still far away from the country’s landmass, it is expected to enter PAR by Saturday or Sunday. But even if the LPA’s chance of making landfall is low, it can turn into a tropical depression,” weather specialist Ana Clauren said in Pagasa’s latest update.
Both LPAs have no direct effect on the country’s weather systems for now.
Pagasa is also looking at the northeasterly surface windflow, which is bringing clouds in the northern part of Luzon.
“It would bring cloudy skies with rainshowers and occasional thunderstorms in the Cordillera region, including the Cagayan Valley region and the province of Aurora. But in Metro Manila and the rest of the country, we are not expecting a wide-scale outpour,” Clauren explained.
No gale warnings have been raised as of now, which means that small fishing vessels are allowed to sail, although the sea condition in seas along the northern and western seaboards of Luzon range from moderate to rough.
