Shallow LPA enters PAR, won’t have significant effect on PH — Pagasa
MANILA, Philippines — A shallow low pressure area (LPA) has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported Wednesday.
According to the state weather bureau’s advisory posted 4 p.m., the shallow LPA was spotted 1,145 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes.
It has no significant effect in the country and may dissipate in the next 36 to 48 hours, Pagasa said.
Meanwhile, the northeasterly surface windflow continues to prevail over Northern Luzon, bringing light to moderate rains to the region.
Metro Manila and other parts of the country are expected to experience a “generally improved weather” with isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening. /je
