CA OKs appointment of Demonteverde Sr. as JBC member

MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Appointments (CA) on Wednesday confirmed the ad interim appointment of Judge Franklin Jaroda Demonteverde Sr. as a member of the Judicial and Bar Council (JBC).

As chair of the CA committee on justice and judicial and bar council, Senator Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III endorsed Demonteverde’s confirmation during the plenary.

No one objected to the confirmation of Demonteverde as JBC member representing the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP).

Demonteverde took his oath as JBC last August 7. He replaced Atty. Maria Milagros N. Fernan-Cayosa as IBP representative.

His term is set to expire on July 9, 2023.

The CA also confirmed the promotions of 29 officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, which was endorsed by CA committee on national defense chair, Cavite 6th District Rep. Luis “Jon-jon” Ferrer IV.
