3 nabbed for illegal fishing in Zambales

SAN NARCISO, ZAMBALES–Three people were arrested on charge of illegal fishing here on Monday, police said in a belated report.

Capt. Noel Sitjar, San Narciso police chief, identified the suspects as Melchor Quilinguin, 34, Michael Reyes, 41 and Alfredo Domingo, 37.

Sitjar said they were arrested around 5 a.m. after a tip from a concerned citizen.

Recovered from the suspects were some 100 kilograms of “dalagang bukid” in plastic coolers loaded in a tricycle, a fish finder machine, six blasting caps, detonating cords and some 70 grams of ammonium nitrate. Joanna Rose Aglibot/TSB
