DID YOU KNOW: Manila Bay cleared of 3,810 tons of garbage

According to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), the Manila Bay cleanup operations from Jan. 7 to Aug. 31 yielded 3,810 tons of garbage, water hyacinth and silt from the bay’s coastline and drainage system.

The cleanup, an ongoing rehabilitation program of the MMDA, has attracted 18,457 volunteers since January. —Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
