Marijuana backyard plantation raided in Quezon

LUCENA CITY –– Police raided a backyard marijuana “weeds” plantation in Candelaria town in Quezon province, police said Tuesday.

Colonel Audie Madrideo, Quezon police chief, reported that anti-illegal drugs operatives, acting on a tip from an informant, swooped down on the house in Barangay Malabanba Norte around 5:15 p.m. Monday.

Authorities discovered 68 uprooted newly harvested fully grown marijuana trees, nine marijuana plants and two bundles of dried marijuana leaves wrapped in newspapers.

The seized marijuana has a total weight of 2,100 grams.
