Alleged drug pusher killed in Lucena buy-bust
LUCENA CITY – A tricycle driver who is also an alleged drug pusher and a known thief was killed in a buy-bust operation here Friday afternoon, police said.
Colonel Audie Madrideo, Quezon police director said anti-illegal drugs operatives killed Orlando Irno, after he reportedly resisted arrest.
Earlier, police said Irno sold “shabu” (crystal meth) to an undercover police officer in Barangay (village) Dalahican around 2:20 p.m.
According to the report, Irno realized that he was dealing with a police agent and pulled out a caliber .38 revolver from his tricycle and shot the undercover police officer but missed. Another police officer then returned fire and killed the suspect on the spot.
Authorities seized from the suspect five plastic sachets of shabu worth P2,775 and his caliber .38 gun.
Police said that based on information from village officials, the suspect was a notorious shabu dealer and a robber in the area. /muf
