LEGAZPI CITY –– Several towns in Albay experienced a 12-hour brownout on Thursday because of the scheduled maintenance work by the National Grid Corporation (NGCP).

Nilda Somera, NGCP Bicol spokesperson, said the towns and cities affected by the maintenance work were Daraga, Manito, Rapu-rapu, Legazpi City in the second district; and Sto Domingo, Bacacay, Malilipot, Malinao, Tiwi and Tabaco City in the first district of the province.

The brownout started at 6 a.m. and would last until 6 p.m.

Somera said power could be restored earlier in some areas if maintenance work was finished ahead of time./lzb
