Magnitude 5.4 quake hits off Sarangani

MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 5.4 quake rocked the waters of Sarangani in Davao Occidental on Wednesday afternoon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.

The quake was recorded at 3:01 p.m. with its epicenter located 128 kilometers southeast of Sarangani.

Phivolcs said the quake, of tectonic origin, had a depth of focus of 41 kilometers.

While damage are not expected, residents are advised to take caution as aftershocks may occur, Phivolcs said./ac
