MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 3.9 earthquake struck Paluan, Occidental Mindoro on Wednesday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The quake struck at 6:55 a.m. 23 kilometers northeast of Paluan.
Phivolcs said the tremor was of tectonic origin, and had a one-kilometer depth of focus.
The quake was also felt in other areas at various intensities:
Reported Intensity III – Abra de Ilog, Occidental Mindoro
Instrumental Intensity III – Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro; Calapan City
No aftershocks and significant damage to property are expected, Phivolcs added. /gsg
