MANILA, Philippines — The alleged “drug queen” could be purchasing illegal drugs from policemen on absence without official leave (AWOL) status but not from active policemen, the head of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said Tuesday.
“Pero yung sinasabi ng pulis na nagbebenta sa kanya [drug queen] baka ‘yun yung mga pulis na AWOL,” NCRPO director Maj. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar told reporters in Camp Karingal, Quezon City when asked about Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) director Aaron Aquino’s statement on the existence of a “drug queen” who is buying illegal drugs from errant lawmen.

Eleazar confirmed that they are also tracking down a “drug queen,” noting that they have arrested her cohorts in several drug operations.
“Meron tayong tinutukoy na ganun [drug queen], ‘yung kanyang galamay is marami na kaming nahuli. Nasa QCPD na ako, nahuli na namin ‘yung galamay,” he said.
Asked about Aquino’s reports that some policemen are foiling PDEA’s anti-drug operations, Eleazar said they will need evidence to verify PDEA chief’s claim.
“Nasa operational procedure ‘yun. Kung sino mga pulis na ‘yun dapat sabihin para malaman namin kung sino yan. Para malaman namin yung ebidensya at at least malaman natin kung sino ‘yan,” he said.
In a Senate hearing, Aquino revealed that there are some rogue law enforcers are recycling illegal drugs confiscated during anti-drug operations. /je
