MANILA, Philippines — The Marikina City local government on Tuesday offered a P200,000 cash reward for any information that would identify those behind the dumping of pig carcasses into the Marikina River.

“Magbibigay ako P200, 000 sa kung sino man ang makakapagbigay ng impormasyon sa culprit ng pagtapon ng 58 na mga baboy sa Marikina River,” Marikina City Mayor Marcelino “Marcy” Teodoro said in a statement.

Teodoro noted that the money for the cash reward will come from his personal funds.

“Personal kong pera iyang iniaalok ko. Ito ay inaalok ko para makatulong sa pagtukoy ng kung sino man ang nagtapon ng mga baboy,” he said.

The Marikina City government said around 58 pig carcasses were recovered from the Marikina River.  /muf
