Unidentified pedestrian dead in Lucena highway mishap

LUCENA CITY –– An unidentified male pedestrian was killed after a Bicol-bound cargo truck hit him in Lucena City early Tuesday.

A report from the Lucena police said the victim, estimated to be 50 to 60 years old, was crossing the diversion road when a speeding truck driven by Arnel Bartolay ran over him in Barangay Bocohan around 1:30 a.m.

Bartolay reported the incident to the police community precinct some 200 meters away from the site.

The police were still tracing the relatives of the victim, who died on the spot. /lzb
