Police bust drug session in Quezon resort

LUCENA CITY – Police busted a suspected drug peddler and four of his clients while sniffing “shabu” (crystal meth) in a resort in Candelaria town in Quezon province on Saturday night, police said Sunday.

Acting on a tip from an informant, anti-illegal drugs operatives initiated a buy-bust operation and nabbed Christian Montecillo after he sold shabu to an undercover police officer in a transaction inside a hotel and resort in Barangay (village) Poblacion around 9:50 p.m., Quezon police chief Colonel Audie Madrideo said in a report.

Immediately after Montecillo’s arrest, the authorities also nabbed Darius de la Cruz, Nicanor Aguila Jr., Kristoffer Castillo, and Ailene Sarmiento, who were all caught in the act of sniffing shabu.

Police seized 1.92 grams of shabu and drug sniffing paraphernalia from the suspects.

Police identified Montecillio as a former detainee on drug pushing charges but was recently released following a plea bargaining agreement with the court.

Meanwhile, two other suspected drug pushers were also nabbed in continued police operations in Sariaya town and Lucena City.

Justine Vincent Salivia was caught selling shabu to a police agent in Barangay 5 in Lucena City on Saturday night. He yielded 1.1 grams of shabu worth P6,000 in the street market.

Police also collared Lord Allan Briñosa, a former drug surrenderer, after he sold P500 worth of shabu to a police agent in Barangay Guis-Guis in Sariaya early Saturday night. /je
