Pagasa’s Friday forecast: Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers
MANILA, Philippines – Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will prevail in Metro Manila and the rest of the country on Friday, the state weather bureau said.
In its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Friday’s weather condition is caused by Tropical Depression Marilyn and the southwest monsoon or “habagat.”
“Marilyn” which entered the Philippine area pf responsibility on Thursday, was last spotted at 1,070 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes.
Marilyn packs maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 70 kph.
The tropical depression was also spotted moving northwest at 20 kph, Pagasa added. /gsg
