Classes in Quirino town suspended due to heavy rain

DIFFUN, Quirino–Due to heavy rains, Mayor May Garnace-Calaunan on Thursday, Sept 12, declared suspension of afternoon classes at all levels in private and public schools.

The mayor’s announcement came out when the students were already in schools.

Calaunan also suspended all classes on Friday, Sept 13, due to the continuing likelihood of heavy roins.

In Ilagan City, rains did not dampen the two-day bloodletting activity at the city community center with 800 blood units expected to be siphoned off donors.

The project, an annual activity since 2014, has been coordinated with the Cagayan Valley Medical Center, which will be the recipient of the blood units.

The rains barely raised the level at Magat Sam with its current 183.95-meter level.

Heavy rains have also disrupted operations of some local businesses.
