MANILA, Philippines — Neophyte Senator Christopher “Bong” Go wants a “killer” to be the next head of the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor).
Go said an “exasperated” President Rodrigo Duterte has already started looking for the next BuCor chief after firing Nicanor Faeldon last week.
Duterte sacked Faeldon amid controversy over the early release of heinous crime convicts, including former Calauan Mayor Antonio Sanchez.
Sanchez was convicted for the rape-slay of University of the Philippines-Los Baños student, Eileen Sarmenta, and murder of her friend and schoolmate, Allan Gomez.

“Maaaring naghahanap sya (Duterte) ng mga dating militar, dating police o retired,” the senator told reporters on Wednesday.
But Go said his recommendation to the President is to appoint a “killer” at the helm of BuCor.
“Basta killer. Ang mamuno ng BuCor, dapat killer,” he said,
The senator said he already has a person in mind but refused to divulge it.
“Kung former military or former police basta killer,” he stressed.
When pressed further, Go said: “Basta qualified po s’yang i-appoint. Basta killer.” /kga
