Classes in Alamada, Cotabato cancelled due to rains
KIDAPAWAN CITY –– Classes in pre-school and elementary levels, both public and private, in the town of Alamada, Cotabato were canceled for today, Sept. 11, due to bad weather.
Mercedita Foronda, Cotabato Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Chief, said moderate to heavy downpour was experienced in the town since last night, prompting the local chief executive to cancel classes.
Foronda said class suspensions were reported in the villages of Paruayan, Malitubog, Mapurok, Macabasa, Mirasol, and Kitacubong.
Foronda appealed to families living near rivers and creeks, and areas prone to landslide to be vigilant about the developing situation, and not hesitate to evacuate when necessary.
