Duterte to fire female exec in ‘an economic office’ over ‘poor performance’
MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte announced Tuesday that he will fire another official not for corruption but due to poor performance.
“May tanggalin na naman ako. Though she is not corrupt, she is not in parity with others in terms of performance,” Duterte said in a speech in Malacañang, adding that the official handles “an economic office.”
Duterte made the announcement moments after Malacañang announced the sacking of Jose Antonio Goitia, Executive Director of the Pasig River Rehabilitation Commission due to alleged corruption.
