Magnitude 4.8 earthquake strikes Batanes
MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.8 earthquake hit Itbayat town in Batanes on Monday afternoon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.
Phivolcs said the quake was recorded at 1:07 p.m., with its epicenter located 46 kilometers southwest of Itbayat.
The temblor of tectonic origin had a depth of 25 kilometers, Phivolcs added.

Phivolcs said no damage and aftershocks are expected following the earthquake.
