Magnitude 4.8 earthquake strikes Batanes
Phivolcs said the quake was recorded at 1:07 p.m., with its epicenter located 46 kilometers southwest of Itbayat.
The temblor of tectonic origin had a depth of 25 kilometers, Phivolcs added.
Phivolcs said no damage and aftershocks are expected following the earthquake.
A magnitude 5.4 quake, followed by a stronger 5.9-magnitude quake hours later, also rocked Itbayat last July 27. /kga
