MANILA, Philippines — Metro Manila and nearby provinces are expected to experience moderate to heavy rain showers on Monday afternoon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
According to the state weather bureau’s advisory released 2:25 p.m., the provinces of Rizal and Cavite may experience rain showers accompanied by lightning and strong winds and may happen within the next two hours.
The same conditions are also being experienced in Metro Manila and may persist within two hours, Pagasa noted.
“All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides,” Pagasa said.
At 2 p.m., a yellow rainfall warning was raised over the provinces of Zambales, Pampanga, Tarlac, and Nueva Ecija.
Under yellow warning, residents are advised to take caution as flooding is possible in low-lying areas and near river channels. /kga
