SAN PEDRO CITY –– A 17-year-old girl may face charges, while her boyfriend may face a case of conspiracy to kidnap a newborn baby in Sto. Tomas town in Batangas province.
Police Corporal Mylene Paulmitan, the case investigator, on Monday said they were conducting follow-up operations to find the suspect and the one-month-old boy she allegedly took.
The police, on Sunday, received a report from Analiza Aboy, the child’s real mother, that her son went missing from their home in Barangay San Roque. Aboy was the suspect’s aunt.
In a phone interview, Paulmitan said they identified the suspect through the security camera in the village that caught her leaving Aboy’s house with the baby around 2:30 a.m. Sunday.
Police also learned that a man, believed to be the boyfriend, picked them up and brought them home to Quezon City. It was not clear how old the boyfriend was.
Quoting the suspect’s relatives, Paulmitan said the suspect had long been claiming to her boyfriend and on social media that she was pregnant and that she needed to stay with her family in Batangas until she gave birth.
After Aboy gave birth last month, the suspect supposedly took pictures of her and the child to convince her boyfriend that the child was theirs.
Paulmitan said the suspect was never pregnant, according to her relatives./lzb
