Store helper recognized for nabbing Bulacan employer’s killer
NORZAGARAY, BULACAN — A 49-year-old store helper’s bravery and heroism has been recognized by the municipal government.
Mayor Alfredo Germar said the municipal government would grant Teodoro Flores a special citation and a job offer for going after the gunman who attacked Melanie Palad in an August 29 robbery at the Rico Lanie Store in Poblacion village.
Flores was attending to a client when the unnamed robber accosted Palad, said Norzagaray police chief Major Avelino Protacio.
Palad screamed when she was shot, prompting Flores to strike the gunman with an LPG cylinder tank.
The suspect’s accomplice , identified as Angelito Valida, grabbed the handgun and fired at Flores before fleeing the scene.
The armed suspect and Palad were rushed to a nearby hospital where they died while undergoing treatment./lzb
