Partial MRT-3 operations resume after 3-hour shutdown

MANILA, Philippines — Partial operations of the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) resumed on Friday morning three hours after it shut down due to power supply issues.

The MRT-3 said partial operations have resumed from North Avenue Station to Shaw Boulevard Station for both north- and southbound trains as of 9:45 a.m.

“Repair works to restore full service in the entire line is ongoing,” the management said in a statement.

The MRT-3 suspended its operations at 6:42 a.m. Friday due to lack of power supply. The management said it was caused by the cable of the Overhead Catenary System being cut off at the Guadalupe station (northbound). /je
