MANILA, Philippines – Typhoon “Liwayway” (international name: Lingling) has left the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) on Thursday afternoon, according to the state weather bureau.

In its latest bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that Liwayway left PAR as of 3:00 p.m, moving north toward east of Taiwan and south of Japan.

“At 3:00 PM today, the eye of Typhoon #LiwaywayPH exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). The final Severe Weather Bulletin will be issued at 5:00 PM today,” Pagasa said in a tweet.

Earlier, Pagasa said that “Liwayway” ceased to have a direct effect on the country’s over-all weather condition, although it continues to intensify the southwest monsoon or “Habagat.”

Just this afternoon, a heavy to intense rainfall warning with possible lightning and strong winds was raised over Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Bataan, and Zambales.

Before leaving the country, “Liwayway” brought rains to the eastern part of Luzon and Visayas.  Meanwhile, another low pressure area located near Surigao del Sur in Mindanao is being monitored by local weather specialists. /jpv
