Vintage Howitzer shell unearthed in Makati construction site

MANILA, Philippines – A vintage Howitzer shell was discovered in a construction site Makati City Wednesday morning.

The Makati City Police – Police Community Precinct (PCP)-8 said one Reinerio Valdez found the explosive at the construction site along J.P. Rizal Extension in Barangay East Rembo at around 8 a.m.

Makati City police chief Col. Rogelio Simon said members of Makati PCP-8 secured the area and retrieved the 105-millimeter shell.

It was turned over to the explosives and ordnance unit of the Makati City police for proper disposal. / gsg
